Lichfield Cathedral is putting on an afternoon seminar, as part of our role as a Healthy Healing Hub on Social and Faithful Prescribing on 25th March from 1400-1700, exploring the impact local churches offer through the healing presence of their communities, worship and social impact.
Experts in Social Prescribing knowledge of the Christian church context will demonstrate the importance of Social Prescribing within the framework of the local church. They will answer questions such as
What is social prescribing?
How might the church engage?
In what ways can social prescribing support your church's mission to be a hub for healing for the whole community?
In this workshop, in collaboration with the Guild of Health and St Raphael, we welcome experts in the field to help you explore social prescribing. By the end of this session you will have:
an understanding of what social prescribing is and how it can be accessed;
an understanding of the health context in which social prescribing is provided;
explored what this could mean for your church and community;
considered how church communities might work with Social Prescribing Link Workers;
shared some examples of how churches can engage with social prescribers.
This workshop would be ideal for church leaders, community and pastoral leaders or medical professionals who want to engage with the church.
