Celebrate community with LOOK WHO'S HERE ✨

Join Lichfield's City of Sanctuary for an exciting day celebrating culture and diversity in Lichfield. The City of Sanctuary work hard to support refugees and displaced individuals, families and groups who have sadly had to leave their homes through no fault of their own.

Members and supporters of this incredible work will be bringing you a day of displays, theatre, interactive events, stalls and food from different corners of the world! 🎭🍲

Here's just some of what to expect:

🤸 Displays: Tai Chi, Capoeira and Self Defence

🎶 Lichfield Ukraine Choir of Sanctuary

💃 Kala Chethana Kathakali (Keralan dance theatre)

🛍️ Jewellery, wood carving, henna art

 

We are inviting all those living in Lichfield who have been  displaced from their homes, or who might in other ways face  discrimination or exclusion owing to racism, poverty, abuse,  sexuality, disability or violence to join us in celebrating their  skills and experiences 

STALLS for sales or displays may include: 

Jewellery 

Wood carving Ornaments 

Tailoring & materials Books 

Painting 

Language classes Volunteer recruitment 

Food from Ukraine, Syria, Hong Kong and Afghanistan. ACTIVITIES & PERFORMANCES may include: 

Ukraine choir Drama 

Multi-lingual  Story-telling 

Artists at work Music 

Photographs 

Advice from experts and professionals & much more 

We invite members of the public, representatives of businesses  and other organisations, community workers, local councillors  and others to a celebration and a showcase of the cultures and  skills of minority groups in and around Lichfield.

To bring to the attention of the local  community, and especially to the business  community of Lichfield district, the  existence of a pool of displaced people in  the district looking for employment,  self-employment or volunteering  opportunities, full- or part-time,  matching the skills they bring with them.
