MAIL YOUR MEMORIES ![]()

As part of The Longest Yarn 2: Britain at War, Lichfield Cathedral are inviting visitors and our wider community to share their memories of World War II.
We’ve already received a wonderful story from Jonathan, our Cathedral Architect, who shared a family memory from 1945. His grandmother took part in a school poster competition encouraging people to grow and eat more vegetables, as meat was still in short supply during the final months of the war.
Stories like these help bring history to life - helping us remember the experiences, sacrifices, and resilience of those who lived through the war, and reminding us of the importance of peace.
Do you have a wartime memory of your own, or one passed down through your family?
Post it in our special postbox at the Cathedral
Or email us at: communications@emailaddress.com
Selected stories may be shared on our social media channels (with permission).
