Twelve months ago we posted the following story from St. Thomas's in Aldridge:-
'St Thomas's, Aldridge (Walsall), put out a TikTok video offering people a free Bible, the video went viral, having been viewed more than 100,000 times so far. In response, St Thomas's received 700 requests for a Bible.
Those able to help by providing good-quality Bibles (Preferably 'New International' or 'Good News' versions) to post out to enquirers should e-mail office@stthomasaldridge.org.uk. To help to cover the cost of postage, visit https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/tiktokbible. St Thomas Church, Aldridge #thequietrevival'
Following en enquiry we have now receive the following update:-
'Wow- we have hit the 3000 mark on our free Bible giveaway!
That means that over 3000 people who reached out via TikTok have received a Bible and we pray that, as they read those words, they would meet with the only one who offers life in all its fullness, the Lord Jesus.'
Please continue to support this project - see further details below:-
The initiative, aimed at non-churchgoers, sends free NIV Bibles along with a "Why Jesus" booklet and a handwritten note. Requests are managed through his TikTok channel (@tiktok_vicar).
How to Request a Free Bible:
- Platform: Message Rev. David Sims via his TikTok account (tiktok_vicar).
- Process: The "TikTok Vicar" offers to send Bibles for free, usually in the New International Version, along with helpful guides.
- Availability: Due to high demand, there may be a wait, as a team of volunteers helps manage the massive response.
- Donations: While the Bibles are free to recipients, the project is supported by crowdfunding.
St Thomas's Church in Aldridge is engaging in this outreach to connect with people, often younger generations in their 20s-40s, who are interested in exploring faith.
