LCSWT ( Lichfield Christian Schools Work Trust ) is currently running 4 projects.
Schools weeks/puppets
This Easter Schools Week, over 300 children from 8 schools came to WSC with 22 volunteers, helping Anne Badcock and Sally Hayter lead the interactive telling of the Bible story with follow up workshops. Shepherd’s Crook Puppets - a small group of volunteers that use ‘life size’ puppets to tell and explain Bible stories to children - continued to visit local Primary schools.
Engage mentoring
Currently over 20 mentors are seeing around 20 primary school children and 30 secondary students in Lichfield. This support could include raising self-esteem, building resilience, coping with anxiety and confidence. Transition workshops for year 6 pupils are also being piloted at Streethay school this term.
BridgeBuilders
This school year so far over 550 students have been worked with at The Friary and John Taylor in Barton over 3 visits helping prepare them for interviews for college, university, apprenticeships or the workplace.
A drop in ‘Get together’ for volunteers and any of those interested in the work of the trust is being held on Wednesday July 9th from 5.30- 7pm in the Lichfield Room at wade Street Church.
